(AVRIG, ROMANIA) – 17th May, Hape Holding AG (Hape) has announced the establishment of “Hape Manufacture SRL”, the new production base in Avrig, Sibiu County, Romania.
The new factory will be strictly divided into four production units, two for wooden products, one for sewing products and one for injection molded (plastic) products and will be finished expectedly in June 2015 and production will commence from July 2015.
“Since the early 1990’s Hape extended its plant from Germany to overseas, the new plant is the third overseas plant of Hape, it shall start with solving approximately 300 to 1000 workplaces for the local government, and will grow each year,” Peter Handstein, Founder & CEO of Hape stated. “Renewable energy will be very likely taken into consideration.”
Moreover, Hape is setting up two educational programs, carpentry and sewing at the local vocational school, one to train teenagers from the age 16 to 19 and one to further educate and retrain adults.
Selected students from Technical High School in Romania will obtain the opportunity to take a one-year internship of craftsmanship at global plants of Hape, and afterwards will have priority placement to work at Hape Romania after graduation.
